Matt DeScala is a seasoned songwriter and producer, having come from bands that cut their teeth playing and making records on the Bay Area Peninsula.
DeSCALA eventually gravitated from indie music to learning how to produce electronic music. He experimented with different styles by taking what he knew from his preexisting music background and combining that with help from friends in the field. This helped him refine his craft in the Future Bass and Melodic Trap sub genres of electronic music.
Having grown up listening to folk music of all varieties, DeSCALA now incorporates inspiration from traditional folk melodies and instrumentation into his music that creates a refreshing blend of roots and modern styles.
DeSCALA exemplifies this in his 2022 debut album “The Landing Place” which is available everywhere now.
